Fall Protection

Creating a new identity to reflect Fall Protection's professional reputation in the safety industry.

Fall Protection have been serving the construction industry for over a decade. They pride themselves on providing an efficient, professional and quality service to ensure that building sites are as safe as possible for their clients. I was asked to create a new brand identity that would reflect these values.

After the initial conversation and briefing on the project, and a clear understanding of Fall Protections customers and market the next steps of the project was to create a consistent visual style across all aspects of the brand identity.

Although a relatively small project the purpose was to create a more reputable look and feel for Fall Protection. This involved designing the logo, brand colours and typographic style.

The logo takes inspiration from the decking and fall safety bags Fall Protection supply, the two shapes fit neatly together the way the safety equipment does on a building site or loading bay. The bold and contrasting colours were chosen for visual impact with the decision to use one as a fill colour and the others as an accent colour interchangeably to allow greater design freedom where required.

To support the primary brand assets an iso-grid pattern was created to use alongside simple concrete textures to add a more dynamic element to the visual identity.

The new identity was rolled out across Fall Protections stationary and brand communications as well as their vehicle livery.

The logo concept

The final logo concept was developed as a visual representation of the decking in-situ within a partially constructed building.  

The design uses an isometric viewpoint to reflect the technical aspect of the construction industry, then reduced the forms down to keep the logo simple for scalability and to ensure a clean and professional style was used.

Applying the brand identity

Alongside the logo design, I developed a wider visual identity which included the iso-grid pattern.

The flexible grid creates a branded texture to apply to various spaces, bringing a consistency to the visual language and creating a foundation on which to build further brand engagements.

I created a suite of assets to ensure all business communications where in sync with the new visual language, ensuring their professionalism and quality of service is always accurately reflected.
